Internet Banking is available at all State Bank of India branches . Customers with at least one account can now register for retail Internet banking online . After opening a bank account with SBI , you can self- register for net banking in the case of single account holders with an SBI ATM card . Joint account holders can contact their banks to complete the formalities .
- Go to SBI Net Banking’s home page , i.e. , onlinesbi.com .
- Click on ‘New User Registration / Activation’ link .

- After that , fill out the information asked in the form that opens . This includes your account number , CIF number , Branch code , country , registered mobile number , facility required and then click on the submit button .

- You will receive an OTP (One Time Password )on your registered mobile number . You have to enter it .

- Select ATM card to activate the service . If you don’t have an ATM , your branch will complete further registration process for you .

- Take note of the temporary username and establish a login password ( the password should be eight characters long , a combination of upper and lower case letters , at least one number , and one special character ) , then re -enter the password and click submit to finish the registration process .

- Log in with a temporary username and a password that is newly established .
- Create a username of your choice . That would be your permanent username .
- Accept the stated terms and conditions . Then create a profile password and a login password to set . Then select hint questions and answer them .
- Then , enter your date of birth , place of birth and the registered mobile number .
- You will find a link called ‘Account Summary’. Click on that to see all the accounts mapped out with your account .
- If you have ” View Only Rights ,” contact your branch with a printout of your online registration process to activate your ” transaction rights “.
Things to Keep in Mind when Activating a Net Banking Account in SBI
- Keep your ATM card handy when you sign up for net banking .
- In the registration form ,provide the same mobile number that you used in the account opening form .
- Keep your passbook and cheque book with you at all times . Passbook will provide you with the majority of the information you need , such as your account number , CIF number , and branch information .
- Never give out your account information to anyone.
- Never give out your OTP ( One Time Password ) to anyone . If you disclose your OTP with unknown people , you may lose money from your account .
- Choose a password and hint response that is easy for you to remember but difficult for anyone else to guess .
- If you have any doubts , go directly to the SBI branch where you created the account .
- Never give out your bank account information , net banking user id , password , or OTP over the phone or over email .
