The Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) is a government-backed savings scheme aimed at providing financial security to employees working in India. The EPF scheme mandates that both employees and employers contribute a portion of the employee’s salary to the EPF account, which accrues interest over time. The Universal Account Number (UAN) is a 12-digit unique number assigned to each EPF member to simplify account management and provide a single platform to access multiple EPF accounts. Despite these measures, employees still encounter various issues with their EPF and UAN accounts.

a. Reasons for incorrect date of birth: Incorrect date of birth in the UAN can occur due to clerical errors, mistakes made by the employer during data entry, or miscommunication between the employee and employer.
